A 15 mile sunset and night ride around the Charles and Mystic Rivers – you may have biked this during the day, but at night it’s a whole other world.
We are committed to making this ride both fun and safe. You will need to wear your helmet. In addition, because the path is not lit for most of the route, you will need a front light (we strongly recommend at least 150 lumens) and a backflasher. If you don’t have these, we can provide them to you at low wholesale price (see below).
The registration fee is $25 and includes participation in the ride, reception with refreshments and snacks, and a stylish Found in Translation t-shirt. You can also purchase your lights through us at cost: 150 lumens light for $20 and backflasher for $5 if you don't have your own.
We are requesting that each participant make a commitment to raise at least $250. Of course, raising more than that would be greatly appreciated!
We will start at 7:30 pm, Friday, June 28th, and be back at Magazine by about 9:30-10pm.
We will start at the parking lot just west of the B.U. bridge, at Magazine Beach, Cambridge. We will ride east along the Charles, to North Point Park, Charlestown Navy Yard, and then snake our way back to Cambridge, catching some sunset and night time skyline views.
The ride will be lead by Mark Stewart and Tory Clark. Mark, a board member of Found in Translation, is an experienced bicycle traveler and night rider. Tory, besides being an avid cyclist and environmental activist, has also volunteered as a mentor for Found in Translation most recent class of graduates.

Help Us Reach Our Fundraising Goal!
Found in Translation's Class of 2012 Graduates
Our first class of 21 medical interpreter students just graduated and we’re preparing for our second class in 2013. This first year of operation used up all the money we received from the Kip Tiernan Social Justice Fellowship and now we need to raise funds so that we can do this all again in 2013.
Here’s how you can help us do this:
The registration for the ride is $30, to cover our costs. If you raise $300, the registration fee will be refunded to you. The cost of a 250 lumens light is $20 and a back flasher is $5. When you register you will need to buy those (if you don’t have your own), but that will also be refunded to you if you raise $450.
To raise funds, tell your friends about this ride and send them to our Support a Rider page, where they can make a donation toward your fundraising goal. You can also donate funds on your own behalf! We encourage you to raise as much as your can, and our top 3 fundraisers will receive prizes from local bike shops (to be announced).
EVERYONE will get a stylish Found In Translation t-shirt!
